Since no one else is going to do the research, I guess I'll have to do it. According to Bulbapedia: "Doduo and Dodrio are both able to learn Fly, despite not having any wings. This is because the Japanese name for the move can also be translated as "sky jump", and both are known for their prowess at jumping."

This only makes me wonder: how can Crobat "Sky-jump" if it has no legs?

...

So... is the Pokedex just plain wrong half the time? Because you've got Pokemon like Dodrio that can learn fly even though the Pokedex says they're ground bound, and then Pokemon like Garchomp that can apparently fly at supersonic speeds but... can't learn fly :/

Talk about shoddy research, Professor Oak.
