Alright, so I'm probably going to be called out as a bit of a jerk for this, but 3 stars out of five. This video started out really, really strong; the NES and Game Boy titles in particular had incredible remixes. During the SNES and N64 era, the remixes were decent, but nothing I'd put on my iPod. I can;t comment on Mario Sunshine's music, never having played it, but Galaxy's wasn't particularly interesting. After Galaxy, it seemed like they were pulling random tracks out of nowhere. Overall, a strong start, but it went out with a whimper.
On a positive note, however, the video pays tribute to the face of gaming (because screw CoD!) It has been 30 years of near-perfect success from Mario. Even if I side with Sonic in most of the arguments friends and I have to this day, I can't argue with the fact that with the exception of Galaxy 2, Mario has been a solid, fun gaming experience since Donkey Kong. And for all this video's faults, the last 30 seconds actually brought tears to my eyes. Well done, Mario! Now, to the creator of this video- can we get a Sonic one to celebrate the release of Generations?
On a related note, one thing seriously bugged me about this video- where was the music from Wario Land 4?
Behold the single greatest gaming icon to ever exist. He has brought laughs, tears, screams of joy and anger, and most importantly, killed time, turtles, mushrooms and giant decipedal worms for all ages.

EDIT: I just noticed, but during the Dr. Mario segment, there's a Wario Land 3 enemy- it looks like it's holding an umbrella in the upper right-hand corner.
I don't know… I grew up with Kirby, Pokemon (just the Gold/Silver/Crystal era, and the other generations after; I didn't care for R/B/Y), Legend of Zelda, and Mother/Earthbound. I assume I was paying to much attention to my Alakazam to grace Mario's fame (and sometimes infamy, in the case of the CD-i games)…
Children today grow up with Call of Duty and Gears of War ("Daddy, daddy! I want Call of Duty #!"-An actual 8 year old at my local GameStop), but the 80's and 90's were more "innocent." You didn't have little 4 year olds getting a PhD on ass-kicking in a videogame ment for people who don't piss themselves off when they don't get their lollipop. But screw those little shit heads. We had more innocent games where zombies didn't kill our characters by biting our asses (unless you count ReDeads and other abominations of videogames) off. Where… people didn't kill people just for shits and giggles (unless you count Chiller). What I'm saying is this: There better be no 7 year olds bitching on good games without blood and guts like Super Mario Bros..
