One could argue it’s not that often that I make a post promoting a friend’s work, but our buddy Drake has started a fun new series.
Do Drake a favor and leave him some honest feedback in our comments section.

This series actually reminds me of a little short that was on Toon Disney as a kid. I can't remember the name of it, but basically it stared some detective guy that would find connections between Disney movies and shows, such as Sebastian the Crab and Beast being in Aladdin.

That reminds me of the commercials Disney ran for Lilo and Stich, where Stich showed up in iconic Disney moments (like the ballroom number in Beauty and the Beast) and messed everything up.

And now for a longer look at the theory.
NOW who's overthinking things?

Even putting aside the logic in assuming crossovers are canon, Link is actually the weakest link in this theory.

On one hand, Link had to use his Ocrania to warp to and from the Soul Calibur world.

On the other, Koholint Island was all just a dream. It wasn't the slightest part of the Mushroom Kingdom, and the bomb-ombs and goombas were just manifestations of something's imagination, just like the rest of the island and everyone there.

Indeed! I was going to bring that up but you beat me to it so just let me add onto it.

!WARNING! WALL OF TEXT INCOMING !WARNING!

While one may argue, poorly mind you, that the dream world of the Wind Fish and Mario's dream in SMB2 may somehow be related it still doesn't provide a link to the worlds themselves.

Also, Link did travel to Soul Calibur II but that takes place in 13th? (or was it 14th) century Europe when guns where just becoming a thing. That would imply that taki would have to time travel (which I have no idea how she'd do with any legitimate canon device) to get to Modern Earth to take on Ibuki for Ninja battles. Therefore if for some weird reason the dimensions of Soul Calibur and the Realm of Hyrule were linked they would link up at the wrong time. Though there's always the discussion of how time moves about in different dimensions but that would spark a physics theory discussion that I'm not qualified for.

Then there's the problem that Gears of War has. Assuming time travel is a viable option we have another problem. Gears of War is set in another universe and in the future at that on probably a different location from Earth. Assuming that Earth exists means that somehow they'll have to find a way to travel lightyears away it might be possible with Gears tech but judging by the look of things moving away from an inhospitable planet doomed to lose seemed like a not-so-viable option for everyone including the rich who had to take refuge in a secret bunker tower thing.

So basically if Mario wants to stomp Locust he'll have to cross a (very-unlikely) intermediary dream world, chill with link to get to travel to Earth, Travel 600+ years into the future then fly across space for another indeterminate amount of time. It just ain't happening.

Then there's always Smash Bros. but there's one thing with that. It's shown in the intros that the characters are toys then later figurines. That means they aren't from their own universes just acting out Toy Story: Battle Royale. In brawl I don't know what's going on there but for all we know it could just be one of those big hobby boards that they use for trains and whatnot.

Suck it vid we can overthink too! And we can do it in the opposite direction!

Needs more Kevin Bacon.

Ski-rim! The new exciting snow sports game using the scenic vistas of the Nordic lands to carve some sweet powder down perilous drops while avoiding bandits, bears, giants and other marauding creatures!

Actually, now that think about it, I kinda want that game. Boarding down the Throat of the World would be pretty awesome.

Ha! Next you're gonna have us believe that video games can exist in the universes of other mediums because of what the voice actors of certain characters previously did. If I were that easily manipulated, I would believe that Inigo, Ricken, Miriel, Flavia, Frederick, Validar, Gregor, Laurent, Tharja, Lissa, and Kjelle would be interacting with a cast of superpowered ninja, one of which is possessed by a fox demon capable of destroying villages.

Isn't this just a reinterpretation of the "6 degrees of kevin bacon"??
