The rare instance that GMod trumps SFM.

Turns out chaos is better on GMod...which...if you ever have gone on a srs bsns roleplay server should have come natural.

*Shudder* Oh all those little babies...

I have to agree. I guess Gmod is better for insanity, while SFM is better for the more "serious" stuff.

It just feels weird to hear the Gmod sounds coming from relatively smooth animations.

There's an easy way to do Source Filmmaker like Garry's Mod. Just don't use the side bars that allow the animations to be smooth. It can't do that 'Throwing them with the physics gun' effect of Gmod, though.

"serious?" on MY HALOLZ?!?!?!?!
WHAT HAS THE WORLD COME TO?!?!?!

This is like watching someone reinterpret a Picasso by using realistic and anatomaically-correct characters and painting. It might look more real, but it just doesn't have the same quirky charm that made it so great in the first place.

That's right, I just compared a GMod video to a classic work of art. Deal with it.

GMOD art looks like picasso too!

The Vicious Cycle of Halolz:
-Shawn posts something
-Everyone rages about the submission one way or another
-Someone posts something witty
-Everyone else tries to say something witty
-Everyone forgets their original rage
-Shawn gets off the hook and gets to risk yet another submission

When are we ever going to get the forums ba.......oh hey, a new submission!

What was I complaining about?

Hey, wait a minute here. You copypasta'd that.
From me.
A while back from the original submission.

Sir, I do not appreciate that.

Now I feel bad for giving a +1 to Soapdish.

You should feel bad every time you +1 me. I am a terrible person.

You get a +1 for the original lolz.

Indeed I did good sir. I thought it'd be appropriate that I reposted in this repost the best comment from the original post thus reinforcing the vicious cycle of repost.
Even though the comment looks exactly the same, because I'm posting it in the new comment maker it is now new again.
To be honest I thought would have picked up on it straight away.

Even so, credit should go where credit is due, and I believe I am credited towards stating the existence of such a cycle, thus a callback to the original post at the very least would be more sufficient to starting a cycle of the vicious cycle of Halolz. *Ahem*

I'm flattered that you remembered my comment, but with all due respect, gentlemen do not plagiarize.
Reply
I apologize good sir a hyperlink to original comment would have been appropriate. In my attempt at irony I not have taken the most 'respectful' course of action. Please do not mistake my comment as an attempt to copy yours but merely an attempt to highlight the vicious cycle of halolz reposting.

I forgive you, as your intentions were for good. Just remember this lesson, however. After all, the fiery road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Honestly, I kinda wanna see what SFM Team Fabulous would be like.
Reply
As StompyChar already said, chaotic videos are better with Gmod.
So Team Fabulous would be very...lackluster methinks with SFM.
Reply
Pfft, like THAT will ever happen.
Reply
Now I see the difference between GMod and SFM.

GMod is for something ridiculous and chaotic.
SFM is for something that looks professional and smooth.

So there are pros and cons on both sides and proving SFM cannot replace GMod in every way.

It's a damn good effort, but we know by now that adding realism doesn't make everything better.

EDIT: For the love of God, don't click that.

I'm more surprised this didn't make it up here yet.

I'm pretty sure someone has sent him this by now as well.

1) holy shit that was the best sfm video I've ever seen
2) holy hell that spy disguised as an engie without still looking like he was carrying a knife

Its just a shame that these engineers...couldn't be civil.
Reply
Oh and that too.
Reply
pssh. I am so pissed off that that is getting so much freaking attention. Its totally done with motion capture and not even adjustments were put in. The movement on the Engie's are just plain slopy the only good part is the ending with all the destruction.

OK mr doc ock rock.

MAKE SOMETHING BETTER I DARE YOU! I DOUBLE DOG DARE YOU MOTHER FUCKER! MAKE SOMETHING BETTER THAN PRACTICAL PROBLEMS!

You're using a frame from the wrong scene. The scene you intended to use is the one with him in a black suit and tie.

This scene is the one that says "Badass Motherfucker" on it.
Reply
Yeah I know, but I had to grab an image with him with a gun or else my google will freeze.
Reply
Doc which would you rather do?

A) Animate 4 1/2 minutes entirely by hand? or

B) Animate 4 1/2 minutes using something substantial to work off of.

It should be noted that B) took 130 hours (and creator was still unhappy with it but had to release it) while A) will take an indefinite amount of time reaching insane levels of dedication just to match 130 hours with mo cap. Don't hate someone for the tools they use when it comes out much cleaner. The whole point of the video wasn't really the animation anyway. It was more of the joke using the animation as a medium.

Another thing, my school seems to say this a lot but here it is "If Leonardo da Vinci, Donatello, or even Van Gogh had access to our tools that we use today. Odds are they would use them." May or may not be true but I could honestly see Leonardo sitting at a computer working on his stuff, even if that might look a little funny. XP

Wellp. Tired from jetlag, don't have much to say other than the fact I got back from the land of Starcraft.

Next you'll be telling me to believe that it's not butter.

I don't care what you all say. As sure as that's honest butter, there's no way GMod could be better than Source Film Maker for making a video.
