I believe someone actually DID prove which was better... here is is! Although it's only for the 3D version, there's probably one for the N64 version out there.[youtube neEr2mc-wK8&feature=player_embedded http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=neEr2mc-wK8&feature=player_embedded youtube]

Apparently he didn't the memo stating he was the Hero of Time, not Hero of "Fuck Friction."

At least I didn't accidentally the whole thing.

or jumping, lol

aside from Epona there is one way that's faster. sidestepping. of course because you can't change direction as easily it's harder to do.

Before getting bombs, TASers use rolls to reach their destination faster.
And TASers know what they are doing when it comes down to most optimized runs.
Reply
But the guy who made the video IS a TASer, and has the fastest run for OoT (even if abusing of some glitches to do it).

You really don't need a side-by-side comparison to notice that jumping sideways is much faster than rolling, and I shouldn't have to mention the superslide trick...

Oh I see. you switched out the word "barrel" with the word "zelda" in order to make a pun about the submission.

Regardless of whatever Link does. He's getting there faster than this guy.

Yeah someone cosplayed the QWOP guy at Comic-con this year.

Link: the only hylian(s) who can claim to have rolled around more than a goron and not be lying or making an innuendo (now if only the guy(s) would talk)

Also the only hylian who can claim to have been a goron. And a zora...deku scrub...dark god...

And a giant.

"Well Shigeru, it looks like rolling is faster than walking nearly all our Zelda games, are you going to exploit this in Skyward Sword?"
"Yes.... Yes I will"
And that's how the Stamina gauge came to be.
The first link had a habit of low blood sugar, or just a lack of oxygen from, you know, living in THE FUCKING STRATOSPHERE.

But then sprinting was faster and more staminafficient than rolling, so everything was 'K.

Awwwww Yeah, Move dat ass Link. -Jizzes his pants-

Reply
Someone didn't play Majora's Mask. Goron's rolling is completely faster.
Reply
Don't get me started about the Nosier part.

Reply
Obviously it's faster, that's why you're told to roll before hitting a ledge, because the roll adds more speed and makes Link jump from the ledge a bit further.
Reply
Rolling before it went mainstream.

Please. I was rollin' 5 years before you were, Sonic.

Reply
Either way, rolling is more fun.
Reply
Meh I've always known it's faster. It becomes much harder to get to the Castle Town before nightfall when you first leave Kokiri Forest when walking. Now side jumping is where it's at!

What's that? You're looking for a punchline? Um... a rolling Link gathers no stalchilds? ... Yeah I got nothing.
Reply
The only problem with rolling everywhere is that you have the danger of suddenly ramming into a tree.

Huh, shit, I thought he was talking about DayZ
