Maybe Dr. Robotnik should've done this, instead:

1) Create a VR world
2) Capture Tails, Knuckles and Amy and hide them inside
3) Force Sonic to run through rings while under strict time limits to find them

I still wonder what they really do. There should be obvious issues with any reproductive desires, Bowser Jr came from somewhere, but he's the spitting image of Bowser, so Peach being Mom...not plausible.

Maybe there's a Mrs. Bowser and he's really kidnapping Peach so they can have a girls night. It could also be some strange way of bonding with Mario. Sorta like a brofist, but with a lot more lava and fire.
