You can thank Steam for this opportunity. Their pre-order bonus for Monkey Island 2 SE is a copy of the first game, and everyone who already owns it can give away their extra copy as a gift.

whats the game about? ive seen it once (the original game) at a friends house.

Point and Click adventure game by LucasArts. You know, the people who made Maniac Mansion and the Star Wars games?
They used the same SCUMM (Script Creation Utility for Maniac Mansion) engine for this game, and the sequel. So popular and funny that it is now a series, with 5 games, the last one now managed by Telltale Games (who is mostly run ex-LucasArts employees focused on Point'n'Click games) and it is episodic.

Now you know! And knowing is half the battle!

It's a point-and-click game. Basically, just use your brain to figure out how to solve puzzles and progress through the game.
