    it could be that yoshi are like chickens and a certain lizard

    chickens constantly lay eggs even though most of the time it is infertile and a species of lizard are all female and when one of the lizards has a boost in testosterone it can fertilize an egg

    and yes i am a nerd that thought about this in a biological perspective
