Makes a little more sense if you’re up to date on this. Personally I lost two hats today, and I was pretty mad at first… but I will admit the resulting fallout has provided me with some quality laughs!

I love the picture, but as for the actual news…
If your going to get angry, which a lot of people are, don't get angry with the people with the Cheaters Lament. I never used an idling program, because I considered this unjust, but I had toyed with the idea because I didn't have a hat.
Now… I have a hat. So don't get pissy with me or anyone else with it.
In addition, I'm not sure about the 'deleting all items' idea… I guess deleting all the ones obtained via idling would make sense, or just losing all items for a month, like the last time, but I agree with the halo.
Wow, I'm ready to be flamed. But please, keep responses legitimate, not just "OMG Y DID VALVE DESTOY MY ITEMZ?!?"

all i have to say is fuck valve. the extra weapons updates were good, but then they put in that random items crap. if the people didn't want to work for their weapons, that sucks for them. i have seen people on tf2 for 200 hours, not get anything, and then people who had just gotten the game and five hats on the first server they join. i had only one hat, it took me at least 5 months to get it, and they delete it.
I honestly can't see how anything good will come out of this.
Valve messed up big time here, letting Steamstats go on for months, then suddenly deciding to label the users as cheaters. Even the guy who made the idler said that he would stop the idling if Valve dropped him a line telling him to stop it.
Still laughed at half of my friends list for this shit, getting all their items over night by idling. I laugh at them since all the shit I got for actually playing was from achivements and duplicates of items I already had and no hats. SO HA HA IDLING FUCKS!
So.. I lose my idling items, but the ones I got from achievements are safe, right?

Shame on you Shawn…using an external program to idle. They deleted the unlockables before from people who used external programs to get them (before the random item getting), and now they did it again.
I however, got a halo :3, exclusive to to the players who did not use idling programs. Which is like 95.5 % of all TF2 players ;p (proof here, in the last sentence of the first paragraph: http://www.teamfortress.com/post.php?id=2787)
