Ok first, if the server is going to start acting really weird, why does it have to happen while I’m out of town? I was literally trying to fix it from my booth at NYAF with my friend’s iPhone.

So… the whole webserver is acting strange… and I can’t seem to figure out the problem. From what I can tell there may be a WordPress plug-in that slowly eats up more and more memory until the server craps out and I have to reboot it… then everything is fine for a while until it happens again. I’ve gone ahead and disabled quite a few things just now which might be responsible, including the UsersOnline and Feedburner plugins. Unforunately that means the people who subscribed for email updates will not be able to get those… for those people I recommend the RSS feed until I can figure things out.

But yeah, this really sucks. Anyone know a good host I could switch to? >____<

The more I work on this… the more it pisses me off!

I suppose being sick doesn’t help.

  7. Shawn Handyside on September 29th, 2008 6:24 pm

Ok, is it fixed now? I’m running out of ideas…

  8. luckydog on September 29th, 2008 6:26 pm

I’m sorry I don’t know any other good hosts but I haven’t gotten that error much in the last few days

  9. Animedevildog on September 29th, 2008 6:51 pm

Personally, I recommend reprogramming the server with a LARGE Fireman’s Axe. I’m sure the Capt. will let me borrow one off of Engine 3 (never goes out anymore anyways) and I’ll personally come down there to loan it to you.

I Have Been Gertting A Lot Of “Webpage Cannot Be Found” Error Messages The Past Week Or So, But For The Past Two Days, Nothing’s Happened.

  11. Shawn Handyside on September 29th, 2008 7:34 pm

Ok as far as I can tell it’s working ok. If this is not the case please let me know (with error messages!)

    Thanks!!

  12. Animedevildog on September 29th, 2008 7:43 pm

I had one (Internal Server Error + a 500 error ) that lasted all afternoon…

  13. Shawn Handyside on September 29th, 2008 7:49 pm

Well I really need to know if you’ve had any since I made that last comment. :P

  14. rikumelenium on September 29th, 2008 7:54 pm

er didnt you recent;y switch to a new host to better accommodate the site? :/

  15. Shawn Handyside on September 29th, 2008 8:01 pm

Yeah that’s the irony… I signed up for a private server on Dreamhost and now things are acting even weirder. Hooray.

  16. Teradohn on September 29th, 2008 8:01 pm

I haven’t been having any problems lately… maybe because I don’t have OCD and check up on the site every five minutes… >.< -cough-

Anyway, don’t worry, Shawn. It’s not your fault that Halolz is too sexy for it’s server.

  17. FrEEz on September 29th, 2008 9:05 pm

@ AnimeEvilDog Axetinguisher>>fireman’s axe. It gives 100% criticals if you attack someone who’s on fire! :D

  18. Animedevildog on September 29th, 2008 10:40 pm

    @ FrEEz
2 1/2″ line running 150psi works wonders for knocking large hoards of attackers over cliffs, thougfh it helps to have at least two, preferrably three people backing you up… imagine what it would do the server… (maybe best to stick with 1 7/8″ line for servers)

  19. FrEEz on September 29th, 2008 11:46 pm

@Animeevildog i have no clue what the hell you just said

  20. Loki C Cain on September 30th, 2008 3:16 am

    maybe its a “Script Kiddie”

  21. Animedevildog on September 30th, 2008 11:59 am

I forget… not everyone knows firefighters terms… A 2 1/2 inch line is a heavy duty line for LARGE jobs but will wear you out quickly. a 1 7/8 inch line is the standard line used to fight fires. A blast of water from either one would send the server flying! (probably totally fry it too, if not totally smashed to pieces…)

FUCK IT!!! Just run over the server with a bus!

  22. B-mac on September 30th, 2008 7:51 pm

You know what I say about this?
    Do a barrel roll.

  23. B-mac on September 30th, 2008 7:52 pm

    And now a helpful comment.
I haven’t had an error message for a while now. Either the website is fixed or I just have good timing.

  24. Kevin J. on September 30th, 2008 9:08 pm

Ah, was wondering what the hell was going on with the site. Kept trying to get on so I could get some lolz… but it wouldn’t load so I gave up until today when I tried again.
