I don’t understand. How can people create these user videos unless they are designers for the game and also, what relation is TF2 to Half-life? I don’t know the plots to either but they seem like completely different games.
Both Half Life and Team Fortress are from Valve, both are on the Orange Box etc. etc.
That doesn’t answer my question much. Same company got it. Orange Box? A box set with both games at discount price? OK, got that. Still don’t understand how these user videos keep popping up though. They would have to be the actual designers making these not just random gamers.
Two words: Gary’s Mod
Lets you do pretty much anything in TF2/Half-Life/Portal, including animating the characters and recording video sessions straight to your disk.
That combined with some sweet moviemaking software and you got yourself some machinema gold. :D
However, this wasn’t Gary’s Mod I don’t think. This is a joke clip Valva made based on a running gag from the Steam forums, I believe…

It’s not a user made video. These video’s are actually made by the company which is why they’re so awesome.

I got it in game, and it is funny, Me and this other heavy with a sandvitch got into a battle and we ended up having to punch eachother.

It’s obviously by the same company that made the game. You just can’t make something like that from the game itself. It’s like those MGS 3 parody clips.

It’s the intro movie for the Sandvich, which you can actually eat in-game for 120 HP. So VALVe decided to have some fun with it. I hope this clears the confusion.

actually, one could make a video like this using a slew of apps including but not limited to Garry’s Mod and some video capture app. Creating the custom animations would be a bitch though as would faking the voices. Anyway, I love these TF2 themed vids. Engineer one is still my favorite for some damn reason but really want to see the Medic in one. Just hope they make the rest before the end of the year.
