TF2 Style Guidelines

Remember, if you’re going to help design weapons and items for the TF2 universe, it is VERY important that you stick to the 1950’s styled theme of the game! You wouldn’t want to ruin the experience!

Glad to see they're staying consistent.
    [/sarcasm]

Also, I noticed a banner below the comment box that takes me to a site called stuffincleavage.com. Really, Halolz?

  2. CNightmare072 on August 19th, 2011 2:17 am

Seriously, if they wanna put in nonsense like this, then just put out a TF3 already. -____-

  3. TCC on August 19th, 2011 2:26 am

What are you talking about Shawn? These new Items are just as 50's style as teleporting, and cloaking devices!

  4. Maeth42 on August 19th, 2011 2:32 am

Oh look, a sniper gun that doesn't suck.

  5. BraveSirJim on August 19th, 2011 3:00 am

Yeah okay that's great and all but HOLY SHIT NEW ENGIE SHOTGUN!!!!!!!! Now I can finally use a shotgun that fires more than 3 shots!

  6. Strike_low on August 19th, 2011 3:14 am

Remember when TF2 is just about shooting enemies, capturing points and swearing vigorously to the winning team with a single press of 'T'?

  7. Bobomberman on August 19th, 2011 3:35 am

Yea I kinda realized this when they put in rocket lazors… Don't mind the sentries and cloaking spies though, those were even in the history books. Hitler? He died from a backstab. The reason they held out at the Alamo? They had sentries.

  8. GrimPagan on August 19th, 2011 3:46 am

The 2050s are still the fifties.

And did I just buy Deus Ex 3 for TF2 weapons?

  9. Sir_Nox on August 19th, 2011 4:08 am

Shepspy: Do you have a minute to talk?

Engineer: Can it wait, I'm going over some calibrations…I got my eye on you, don't think I haven't seen you eye-balling those Plasma-Turrets I just built.

Shepspy: Do yoy have a moment, Sniper?

Sniper: Oi, Spy, just the man I was looking for. Did I evah tell you about the time I killed fifty Scoutarians with one Jarate and my bare-hands? I didn't know a body could have so much blood, then again I'd never beat so many people to death with their own ribcages before. That's all I wanted to say, talk more later, Shepspy.

Shepspy: Heavy, how're you doing on controlling that agression?
Heavy: Heavy wuz just theenking about de time he and sandvich ripped out puny Blurians spine with teeth. AHAHAHAHA! GOOD TIMES!
    Shepspy: Heavy *Nod*.
    Heavy: Shepspy *Nod*.

  10. ChemicalKirby on August 19th, 2011 5:21 am

    50's style? That's a bunch of BS….

  11. Matimoo on August 19th, 2011 5:41 am

Yeah, I said that the grordbort weapons fitted because of retro and steampunk styles. I stand by that. But These, don't fit in the slightest.

Even a pink minigun that shot hats would fit better xD

  12. PortalMan118 on August 19th, 2011 5:49 am

What? Their civilization has improved technology too!

  13. HughbertEsq on August 19th, 2011 5:49 am

    Are these…. real?

  14. Damocles on August 19th, 2011 5:55 am

    *Checks halolz and sees post*
    lol What a great photoshop
    …… wait no
    NO
    *Checks team fortress official site*
    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  15. SolidScientist on August 19th, 2011 6:25 am

I don't see the big deal. This stuff is easily on-par with the technology level of the 50s…

…we're talking about the 2050s right?

  16. Gearheadmk2 on August 19th, 2011 7:07 am

OK Valve, we get it, TF2s your little commercialist bitch. Now, you see those guys sitting there in the "Balance and Gameplay" room? Let them have some say in what happens, or just sell them to someone else (Platinum maybe?) so they can work on a game that doesnt run on hats and overpowered explosions.

  17. Ice_Cold_Water on August 19th, 2011 9:23 am

Stupid TF2 hipsters! They're too cool to shoot at! It's annoying!

  18. KZN02 on August 19th, 2011 1:35 pm

    Nothing realistic you say?

  19. TheInsaneWombat on August 20th, 2011 9:44 pm

Time traveling wizards did it. But not the one that sent the teams to Degroot.

  20. TheSpaceCore on August 20th, 2011 10:06 pm

Cave Johnson here! Lab boys just informed me of some sort temporal paradox that caused some weapons we were developing to get sent back in time to some parallel dimension. Now, we aren't entirely sure where they went, but the reports say that it's some place full of hats. Now, I don't know about you, but I've never seen a hat use weapons….

    Hey! You! HAT. WEAPONS. NOW.

Anyway. If you happen to receive this message and find these weapons, it is highly recommended that you do not touch them, lab boys say they may be poisoned by temporal energy. They might kill ya. Then they'll probably rewind you back to before you were killed so you can be killed again.

Anyway, that's all for now. Cave Johnson, we're done here.

  21. Drjolt on August 20th, 2011 10:28 pm

Well i do say kind sir! It is a quite day in 2for-*DeLorian crashes through the wall* "I AM HERE FROM THE FUTURE. TAKE THESE FUTURE WEAPONS, BITCH."

  22. AManWithACloak on August 20th, 2011 11:00 pm

    Valve, I am disappoint.
    No new Scout stuff AGAIN?
(srsly though, when does scout ever get stuff?)

  23. KungFuDeli on August 21st, 2011 3:51 am

Poor Valve, your opinion is invalid. Just keep updating and except our ideas. That's a good boy. Now bring me the new Counter-Strike and I'll give you a treat.

  24. Cake Core on August 21st, 2011 4:03 am

    *looks a second panel*
    Everyone strike a futuristic pose
    'Cause shit just got real

  25. Hatley96 on August 21st, 2011 7:19 am

    They never asked for this.

  26. KarmikCykle on August 21st, 2011 8:40 am

The answer is simple: money, dear boy.

  28. Sid_Diddly on August 21st, 2011 1:34 pm

Technically they're all clones taking part of a combined Aperture Science and Black Mesa training simulation for genetically advanced troops established in a faux 50's world to keep them from realizing that despite being the same in every way to their blu or red counterparts.

  29. Skrist on August 21st, 2011 4:37 pm
  30. Cake Core on August 22nd, 2011 1:36 am

They were using weapons before they were mainstream …. or invented

  31. Vabolo on August 22nd, 2011 7:26 am

Again with the unjustified minus ones! Sasuketoo here was only being informative!

  32. WheelMan1337 on August 22nd, 2011 10:22 am

If I got a dollar for every time i got killed by those new weapons, I would have enough to buy them myself…
And everything else in the Mann Co. store…
And any other future items Valve will release.

  33. FrEEz on August 22nd, 2011 8:19 pm

Honestly I was pissed when they put the cowmangler 5000 in which obviously is not TF2 (I mean at the very least have it steampunk like the gunslinger).

  34. Cactuar213 on August 23rd, 2011 3:21 pm

    That picture needs more lasers.

  35. Herman Groenenboom on August 25th, 2011 9:02 am

They also breached their own particle limit when introducing the Cow Mangler 5000…
