Well….that's one way to make Oshawott better.
You could say that was a rather… ghastly series of events.
Wouldn't… wouldn't the Oshawatt faint? I don't think Pokemon die except of old age… I mean they even have a virus that doesn't hurt them. It makes them stronger.

I don't get it! These poor critters can be body slammed by two ton behemoths, burned, electrocuted, frozen solid, and even smitten by god himself, which only knocks them out. They can't take a truck to the face?

In panel 4 if they still had the Oshawott the could actually wash the truck.
So who else watched the tv show first and thought that the Gen1 Ghost types would actually beat the Saffron Gym, only to get steam rolled due to the Poison type mix?

Ghastly's only rewarding stats are sp. atk and speed. That being, this decision might just come back to Haunter!

Now your Oshawott is half-Poison, making it susceptible to every Psychic attack ever. WAS IT WORTH IT?
Wanna know the kicker? Now that it's a Ghastly, it's actually WEAK against Psychic types, due to being part Poison.
For another one, if she had just evolved Wotter, it could eventually learn Megahorn, a BUG type move!
Of course, this strategy doesn't involve steamrolling a sentient being, so there's that flaw.

I considered doing that once, but then I remembered that I was in the TOP PERCENTAGE as it was and that that would just be OVERKILL.
I know that this has been already brought up, but four things:
1) How the flying piss do you make a Pokemon more powerful than any psychic by turning it into a Ghost/Poison type? Alakazam would wreck that shit.
2) If the trainer had bothered to let Oshawott live until it evolved into Samurott, it would gain access to Megahorn, the strongest bug attack. Heck, Oshawott can even learn X-Scissor, another bug move, so it already has as much potential to stomp psychics as Gastly does.
3) Dark types are much better prepared to fight Psychic types than Ghost types, because they have immunity to Psychic moves!
4) Everyone knows that murdered Pokémon turn into vague ghosts that scare other Pokémon until you get a Silph Scope.
GAWD, IT'S LIKE THESE COMIC ARTISTS DON'T EVEN PLAY THE DAMN GAMES THEY MAKE COMICS ABOUT.
