   Its a type of salamander called a mud puppy. They’re basically salamanders but with gills. But I checked on wikipedia, and it might be an “Axolotl”.

   This is strange, because yesterday at East dorm in Harvey Mudd College there were some “mudkip” (water pokemon) related sayings/things going around, including this very phrase written at various places. Hmm..

    Nick’s right; it’s an axolotl, probably photoshop-colored to to emulate t3h mudkipz. I imagine the design of Mudkip was based at least in part on this animal.

    Actually, I have seen Axolotl’s with this coloration before (they’re not extremely common but they aren’t “rare” either…).

    it’s an axylotl aka “the mexican walking fish” the carachter Mudkip WAS based on this real life creature. I own two of them A white one and a black one.
